At Last!

I have finally got around to finishing some figures. Once again however the Space Marine repainting project has taken a back seat. I got invited into a AWI wargame campagin down in Wollongong and so I have been painting figures for that, when I can find both the time and motivation.

Here they are.

American Militia riflemen from the Perry's plastic "Continental Infantry" box set. The rest of the box will be painted as line Militia.

Continental Line Infantry. Actually these guys are a bit anochronistic as they are Old Glory's "Mad Anthony Waynes Legion". So they are US Line Infantry but from the early 1790's as opposed to the 1770's -1780's. Still they don't look too out of place and as I had them (and a lot of others, enough for 8 infantry units and a cavalry unit) just sitting around from a job lot I bought when a games company here in Australia folded, might as well us them. As metal figures these guys are considerably "chunkier" than the Perry's but they should be ok together.

In Command.

So I have finished the regular Space Marine Librarian. This is a later GW figure as the two figures I use to use are now part of the veteran squad. Anyway here he is.

Next is the Chapter Master. This is a Scibor figure from their Spartan Space Marines.

The shield.

Inside of the shield. This is again a homemade transfer. Unfortunately, despite my care, the measured cut out doesn't exactly match with what was needed. The image is meant to be the Emperor of Mankind. I might do this again at some point.

Speeding along, somewhat.

So this time we have a repaint of a repaint. At the start of thei project I painted my jet bike squad but then painted the Terminators but in a slightly different colour scheme. So no I have gone back and repainted the riders though not the bikes.

The squad.
One of the squad.
The Sarge.

As for new figures the bike squad is entirely new. Oh and all the bases for both squads are new.

The squad.

Chaplin candidate.
Libarian candidate.
The shoulder markings are my own waterslaide decal transfers that I have been experimenting with making.

The Sarge.

Close up of the Librarian candidates left shoulder pad.
Finally for this post a Space Marine Captain. This is a GW figure but it was a freebie Sigmar figure that came with a White Dwarf magazine. The guns are old Space Marine bolters, the head, left shoulder symbol and sword are after market extras.

Help for body and soul.

Gday.
So again some more medics and chaplins for my Space Marine army from the repainting project. These are my old "beekies" from very close to 30 years ago.

Medics.
Chaplins.
Also an extra Terminator for the line up.

The Terminators as a whole have not been repainted again, but they have finally been put on new bases. The base is a 40mm MDF circle from Back2Basix. The texture is Kneed-it having been stamped into a Basius mould.

Medic! And a Chaplin! Oh dear!

So I have got back into my seemlying never ending repainting of my old Space Marine army, (which will be true if I don't keep at it) I have finished redoing my biker Chaplin. Remember that some of these figures, like this one, are about 30 years old.

A Terminator Captain from the original box set. He was repainted a while ago but I finally got around to putting him on a new, bigger, 40mm base.

Finally a new figure. This is one of the new Primaris Marines. Indeed it is the Primaris Apothecary which I got very cheap by stint of buying it in Edinburgh whilst on holiday. Damn GW's Australian pricing. Anyway the figure is very nice and paints up well. I am very pleased with the result.

By the skin of my teeth.

So I finally managed to get some painting done. April was a write off, being overseas and all, and it has been hard to get motivated again. Many of these figures have been sitting on the desk for some time just waiting for a last minute rush to get them finished. This I managed to do late on Thursday night. Made it for May by a couple of hours.

First up a Sdkfz 7 as a late war artillery tow. This is a conversion from a die cast Flakverling carrier from Military Vehicles magazine.

Next up a Sdkfz 9 Famo from Revell. I had eariler converted another diecast Sdkfz 7 to a recovery vehicle by scratch building a Bilson crane so I didn't really need another so by the simple expedient of adding canvas covers I get the artillery tow version of this machine.

Rebuilt Airfix 88.

FW-189 Uhu by Bilek. No I have never heard of them either. I picked this up at the MOAB Bring and Buy last year. It was an old kit and the transfers just fell apart so I have been waiting for som after market ones to arrive. Apart from the canopy the kit went together very well. The clear canopy parts did not fit well with the rest of the kit and then reacted badly to the glue, clouding over even where the glue never touched and not bonding well. And then I had to paint it! No one does pre cut masks for this aircraft in this scale (1/72) so it all had to be done by hand.

Some 40K Space Marines as part of the interminable repainting project.

Terminator Librarian.

Captain.

Banner Bearer.
